Boeing Launches BBJ Max 9

Latest VIP jet makes debut at Paris.

There’s a new airplane near the top of the heap of uber-luxury jets after Boeing Business Jets announced the sale of the first BBJ Max 9 at the Paris Air Show to an undisclosed European customer.

The Boeing 737-based BBJ Max 9 sale marks the fifth BBJ Max order after Boeing previously booked four orders for the BBJ Max 8 model. The jet is due for delivery for its VIP completion and paint in 2020.

Boeing Business Jets was formed in 1996 as a joint venture with GA to offer VIP versions of the Boeing 737. The BBJ Max 9, with scimitar winglets and more powerful and efficient engines, will replace the BB3.
