$14,000 for a radio that is no better then the $3,000 one the homebuilt fellows are allowed to use and no more complicated then a nice laptop. Certified General Aviation is pricing itself out of existance.
Part of the problem is there are suitable replacements such as the GAMI fuels but you got orginizations sticking thier noses into it looking to make a buck off of it and prolonging the implementation. The GAMI fuel is appealing because it does not require special refineries.
Glad to see the Bonanza in the top 10 where it belonged. Not sure if I would have put the Cub as number one but it is the most reconizable plane there is since people call every plane a cub!
As much as has been written, as many accidents of this type we all read about, as much as your instructor tells you don't do it the blame falls completely on the pilot in this case and the court was correct in it's findings. I feel for the family but the guy F Upped big time and it is no one else's fault but his own.
