(and the terrorists win, again)
How true, although we hate to admit it, We lost more than lives of fellow Americans and loved ones that day. We lost so much of our way of life that it has changed us all. Wasn't that the mission of the terrorists in the first place? America is still a melting pot of all cultures races, and religions. The fact that we all have the same opportunity to live equally free is what makes this country stand out as the most desired place to live. When we let fanatics turn us against each other, we all lose these freedoms. We have to stick together for (GA) and our way of life as a whole. Don't let them win again....

I must have missed something here. I saw nothing to indicate if the pilot was or was not instrument qualified.

Ok, disregard that, I didn't have the whole article in view. This is tragic and another example of pushing beyond your (self imposed) minimums. Good question on the requirement to be instrument rated. Every position I've ever applied for required I be instrument rate and current.

This has been a training technique in military pilot training, at least for me it was and it works very well keeping you on track and focused on the tasks at hand.

They said he suffered from a neurological disorder called polyneuropathy, which could have played a role in the accident.
This is very tragic. My condolences to the families, shame on any pilot operating under the influence of drugs; or a known illness that could impair his or her performance.
