Air France A380 Clips Comair CRJ’s Tail at JFK

to "chipnirish" What are you talking about? The vehicle was in FRONT of the CRJ and had no part in the accident. It wasn't on the taxiway, it was in the service zone. In fact it it doesn't even drive into the lower part of the scene until after the wing section of the A380 is just about to hit the CRJ. Maybe you should get some glasses because obviously you've never worked at an airport.
Obama Duplicitous about Bizav

Robert,
I for one am getting sick of the arrogant attitude that you are expounding more and more now that you're in charge of Flying magazine. Get real, the world and the economic picture has changed dramatically in the the past 5 years. The richest 1% of the American population has more wealth than the combined wealth of the bottom 90%. But do I begrudge them? No. Its the American dream to work hard and enjoy the ethical financial benefits that should come to you. But that doesn't mean if economic realities rear their ugly head and hard choices need to be made that, I as a member of the lower 90% should be happy to see tax breaks and depreciation models maintained while the rest of us are forced to do with less. Everybody is going to have to take some hard medicine. What worked in the recent past (accelerated depreciation) does not mean it is the best economic tool for today's situation. Whether you like him or hate him at least give credit to Obama for saying we all need to share in the pain. I don't see you coming up with any plans, just complaining.
How about using the bully pulpit you were given to start conversations on what we can do to actually get the ball rolling rather than trashing anybody who wonders if the tax burden (benefits) are equal. I find your editorializing to be biased, and imflamatory and that's not what I wanted when I subscribed to Flying magazine.
Just my opinion.
NTSB Tries, Fails to Address GA Safety

I must say I'm confused about the tone of this article and especially the sub-title: "The NTSB's poorly thought out inclusion of GA's safety woes on its annual safety hit list proves it is clueless about how to make light aviation safer." I read and re-read this article three times and I do not get the same perception that Robert does. First of all the word "clueless" implies that they have no idea how to make GA flying safer as in the next to last paragraph, where he states "...a few vague notions, like better airplanes and pilot training". Excuse me but in the previous paragraphs, Robert gives prime examples that show how these 2 items could help in reducing accidents including from "...equipment failures to components other than engines, like vacuum pumps, the loss of which in IMC forces the pilot to have to recognize the failure and save the day partial panel..." and this comment "The biggest one is pilots losing control of the airplane at low level. Another is .... unskilled or uncertified pilot flying into IMC, with predictably tragic results. ... pilots running their airplanes out of fuel, ...." Excuse me but these two issues are exactly what the NTSB says is the problem and why a majority of the 400 lives lost could possibly have been saved. The need for better equipment and better training for GA pilots. Maybe he should not be trashing the NTSB for stating the obvious anymore than he should be giving us his opinion if he has nothing new to add to the conversation.
