You definetly have to go for the Cessna. It is the better airplane by all acounts. The landing gear on that plane can really take a slamming and still come up smiling at you. In my experience the 206 is much MORE STABLE then the Piper. it carries more and has more range. If you can afoord it buy a new or a new-used one.(1998 or newer). Also if you can buy the newer one go for the turbo. If you have to buy the Continental version do not. (The Continental turbo is a nightmare). Sice you will be flying in africa the turbo will get you out of the heat. It also has beter numbers almost all the way around the board. Oh and the 206 can carry a cargo pod. The Piper cannot.
Guys-
THis Diamond thing could work but I doubt it will for several reasons. The service ceiling is outragous The Cessna T206 can fly higher than that. Also how fast will this aircraft cruise and will the engine have high fuel burn?? AS with Eclipse they are basing there design on a dream engine that is not certified. And the next question is doen Diamond have enough cash to pull this off?? The are working on a twin engine right now that will use a lot of thier resources. And historically companies that tried to develop and certify two airplanes at once failed and lost money or worse went bankrupt.
Hello,
Sounds like you do good work as for the fuel flows I am not sure but as for the wing droping in the stallyou probably forgot to model the leading edge cuffs on the outboard leading edge on the wing. And is there any chance you could do the Cirrus SR-22 I am interested in its Spin characteristics
