The "rotor shaft" (mast) of the EC135 is in no way a weak point in the EC135. Anyone, military or not, who told you that "any rapid movement can cause failure" has no knowledge of the EC135 and probably little knowledge of helicopters. The only weak point in this scenario was the pilot who let a youngster fool around in the cockpit while in flight.
Might as well include the fixed-wing community in the "need for culture change" as they continue to crash as well. Then there are all those auto accidents on our highways....culture change needed there too. Buses and trains after we clean up cars, planes and helos. Sounds like some good job opportunities for people who don't fly, lawyers and consultants.
