Commuter Flight Lands at Wrong Airport
from N3922B

9.5 miles apart or 95 miles apart, most of us can find the right airport even without that big TV screen with a pink line pointing to it. I'm sure the 340 has some glass on board.
What's worse is it was a 2 person crew and neither figured it out before the wheels touched.
@340PIC: Rookies or not, that it happens sometimes to any crew is just as bad as the number of high time pilots that nearly run out of gas or take off 300 lbs over gross and haven't ended up in the weeds yet. Bad pilots sometimes get by with it for it while...
AOPA Comes Under the Gun

They'll probably ban my post for this. I kind of feel this way about Flying magazine a lot of the time. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.
The truth is a lot of aviation is still focused on the rich guys. That may be part of why they are purging so many pilots/members in this economy.
There are lots of magazines out there and several other organizations other than AOPA.
Sounds like all of them don't really want my meager fees from a lowly middle class Cessna driver.

Just don't speak against the All Mighty foreign Bonnier corp products or you will be voted down.
Just because I'm not a rich jet jockey and I have to fly a 30 year old Cessna doesn't mean I'm not entitled to criticize the publication that I have loved and supported for 35 years!
What would J. Mac say about all of this!
Pilots’ Rights in the Wake of 9/11

@Stan3818 - you are 100% right on this one.
It horrifies me that 1/3 of the people read your post and concluded it wasn't a good comment. They must be terrific at ADM.
Inhofe is a black eye to aviation. There may be some good that came of the pilot's bill of rights.
You're right, the media should not brush over his abysmal flying and attitude towards safety.
Dramatic Footage Captures Airplane/SUV Collision

Pause the video at the point just before impact. The pilot was too low to begin with and he elected to perform a no-flap landing. He was probably going to float that sucker 5' off the deck halfway down the runway and if lucky he might have drug it all the way to the numbers.
Sorry he hit an SUV, scared his himself and his poor wife half to death and now has some deductibles to pay - but it was clearly the student pilot's mistake.
Yeah I agree the SUV wasn't looking but that doesn't change the fact that the guy was just too low to pull off that landing in the 1st place.
I hope he meets with his CFI, has long discussion about this, then goes on to be a competent private pilot with one hell of a story to tell.
