In the world we live in today, flying over a power plant is almost guaranteed to get you thrown in jail if not followed and possibly shot down by an F-16. Wake up pilots; this is the post 911 era. You shouldn't need a chart to tell you where never to fly.
There is an old saying in aviation. There are old pilots and there are bold pilots. But there are no old, bold pilots. This is a bold pilot. Probably not a good idea to fly with him or near him.
I agree that affordability is the issue here. The LSA concept is an exciting one until one realizes that the admission price to this club is over six figures. That might appeal to a small segment of the market liike flight schools but not to many others. If I had that much money to spend, I'd buy a more capable used aircraft. If I didn't have that much money to spend, I'd buy a used 172 or something similar. I don't think a new LSA is ever going to be affordable for the most of the market is is targeting.
I find it interesting that almost everyone wants government to cut spending and balance the budget, as long as it doesn't affect them. I'm all for cutting the FAA's budget as well as every other government agency. Time to stop mortgaging our kids' futures and pay as we go.
