Bird Strikes

I recall an article on this subject a few years ago where a large bird came thru the captains windshield during cruise over Africa, DC-3 I think. The bird speared the capt. and his injuries were fatal. Can't find anything on the NTSB records though, does anyone recall this.

Please pass our best wishes to Bax....we do miss him. I also got great enjoyment from Len Morgan's column. Hope he is doing OK, I was sad to see him leave the pages of Flying. Thomas Block is doing OK, his piece on the 777 made great reading. Love to hear more war stories from his airline days.

Rmeder, you are correct. Len mentioned that a few years back in his column. How long ago I dont remember, but Im reading this mag so long that I instantly recognise the front covers on "25 Years Ago". Still have those copies somewhere!
