Yet another Government boondogle. If the furloughed workers didn't actually work during their furlough (what are the chances?), in effect providing a forced 2-week paid vacation. Nice!
Of course it wasn't the workers fault they got furloughed. But I'm sure the responsible members of congress would be willing to give up their vacations in exchange for their screw-up, just as soon as they form the proper committees to hire external auditors to determine which members were actually at fault.
Off-topic, but the early statement "Since I’m a boy let me talk about sports:" influenced how I read the remainder of the article. Inferring that talking about sports is something that "all guys do" and "all girls don't" is a bit single-minded. Now guess if I'm male or female.
I've been an AOPA member since 1984. I don't own (wish I could though), but I stay current (not as current as I would like though). I think the AOPA Air Safety Institute alone (especially seminars, videos, courses) is worthy of whatever portion of my dues that supports it. Sure AOPA is not a perfect organization, and can't possibly please all the members all the time. I'm still with you AOPA, please don't loose touch with piston grass-roots aviators.
