Hey BillFishJr, what to you think will happen if business aviation has to "bite the bullet"? The people who manufacture and build the aircraft will be the ones taking that bullet. If presbo really wanted to increase revenue to the government to solve the deficit problem, he would do more to incent companies to bring jobs to the USA. More jobs=larger tax base=more revenue. All this tells me is presbo's real goal is to make everyone poorer and spread the wealth around in the name of fairness, (socialism/marxism). He despises wealth, and everything's a zero sum gain for those that have it.

Robert, I agree 1000%. If GA is going to not only survive but thrive, we as an industry have to find ways to lower the cost of aircraft acquisition and operating costs without a compromise in safety. An overhaul of Part 23 is long overdue. As we see, given current state of the economy, government regulations stiffle growth and innovation. Outside of raw passion and love of aviation, where is the incentive for venture capitalist to invest in an aircraft design and manufacturing when it will take years, if not decades, to recover the investment? I have to believe that with the technical innovations that exist with computer simulation and design, much of the costs for certification could be reduced, if not eliminated. This needs to happen or the survival of GA is in serious trouble.

First Cirrus, now Beachcraft. Who's next Cessna? Piper? Thank you imperial federal government for creating the business climate that makes it easy for the Chinese to start gobbling up American companies. King Obama has succeeded. Lord help us if we don't get the socialist dictator booted out of office in November.

Skymachines, speak for yourself about the comment very few pilots know what they are doing. There are careless pilots out there, but don't lump us all not that category. I take pride in careful preflight planning even for a short trip around the patch. No need to throw us all under the bus.....
