FAA Calls On Pilots to Be Good Citizens
The current issue of FAA Safety Briefing targets aviation citizenship among general aviation pilots. It urges us to show our responsibilities toward fellow pilots by sharing values, customs and culture with the rest of the aviation community.
Feature articles in the September/October 2013 issue include primers on developing intervention strategies for fellow pilots who may not measure up ("Be Your Fellow Pilot's Keeper"); developing and maintaining a personal safety management system (SMS) like professional flight departments ("To Be, Rather Than to Seem"); and a sit-down Q&A with Michael Huerta, FAA Administrator ("A Heading Set for Success").
FAA Safety Briefing targets non-commercial general aviation pilots, with a mandate to improve aviation safety by making pilots aware of FAA resources; helping pilots understand safety issues; and encouraging continued training.
