Sporty’s, Cirrus Team Up to Auction SF50 Vision Jet

The online event will benefit charities and take place during this year’s AirVenture.

“Only rarely does a benchmark airplane come along that demands the creation of an entirely new category in which to place it, one that shatters conventional thinking with radical leaps in design and operating efficiency.”

That’s just the first sentence of our review of the Cirrus SF50 Vision Jet in the July issue of Flying, but it should give you a great idea of how much we love this innovative personal jet. We’re hardly alone, as aviation enthusiasts are overwhelmingly excited about the Vision, and when AirVenture rolls around next month, one lucky pilot will have the chance to own the stunning aircraft before almost anyone else.

Sporty’s Pilot Shop has teamed up with Cirrus Aircraft for an online auction that will take place during the week of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh (July 23-28), and the item up for bidding is one of the very first Vision jets to be delivered this fall. More importantly, the auction will benefit a charity selected by Cirrus, as well as The Sporty’s Foundation, which focuses on inspiring young people to pursue their interests in general aviation. Any amount of money raised over list price will be split between the two charities.

From the Perspective Touch by Garmin cockpit to the modular cabin design, the Vision jet is certainly the revolution that Cirrus intended it to be. Soon enough, one lucky bidder will find out for himself.
