How do I get involved with Ferry/Delivery Flying?

in

I am an A&P Mechanic, and My Brother flies for an airline. We have been talking about getting involved in the aircraft Ferry Business, but have not found many who are willing to talk to us about the business. Can you offer any advice or point us to someone who can advise us?

The only advice I can offer is to contact airplane dealers who may have bought or sold airplanes on the international market. You will need to be insurable, and convince those people that you have the qualifications to safely move the airplanes. It won't be easy. In fact, it is probably close to impossible in this market. But you have to start somewhere, and that is with people who need to have airplanes moved.

Bill Cox, long time ferry pilot and aviation writer, had an article recently in Plane and Pilot explaining how difficult it was to enter this field. He also pointed out that the market for ferry services is declining.
