Embry-Riddle Orders Gaggle of Twin Stars
The big Florida aviation school is looking to the gas piston-powered version of the Twin Star for its multi students.

May 2009

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University ordered 10 Diamond DA42 L360 Twin Stars for use in its training programs at the Daytona campus. ERAU plans to take delivery of the airplanes and have them up and running in time for the start of the fall semester. The L360 version of the DA42 replaces the turbodiesel Thielert engines with 180 hp counter-rotating Lycoming IO-360s. The new version retains its G1000 glass cockpit and flight into known ice approval, though the latter is not likely to get much of a workout along Florida's Atlantic Coast. Diamond expects certification for the DA42 L360 shortly.
