Video: No Runway Required

Super Cub lands on logging road.

We’ve seen Super Cubs land in some pretty interesting places, but none quite as tight as this. Instead of a runway, the pilot chooses to set down on a logging road somewhere in the wilds of Maine.

That would be challenging enough, but this particular road is flanked by some fairly tall trees not to mention rock-strewn ravines on either side that add to the pucker factor.

While the approach and landing look risky, the pilot pulls it off without bending anything. He then “drives” his Cub slowly up the road to meet up with his hunting buddies, who’ve made the trip in pickup trucks.
