UFC Star Hitches Special Bizjet Ride

The post-bout flight leaves immediately, for good reason.

“The Ultimate Fighter” television star Stephan Bonnar tangles with UFC (Ultimate Fighter Championship) middleweight Anderson Silva this Saturday night in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. But at least Bonnar won’t have to worry about one thing. His wife is expecting their child back home in Las Vegas, and the Bonnars were concerned he might miss the blessed event. So UFC founder Dana White stepped up to offer the mixed martial arts fighter a fast ride home – in his Bombardier Global Express.

The widebody business jet will depart immediately after the main event (available on pay-per-view), which should get Bonnar home in time, and well rested (though Silva might have something to say about that).

White is hardly a stranger to the cabin of his Global (a 2008 BD-700-1A11), and recently logged 33 hours’ flying in four days. His itinerary included a 10 p.m. Friday departure from Las Vegas after a live television appearance for a direct flight to Stockholm, Sweden. After a UFC event there, it was on to Abu Dhabi for a round of meetings, then homeward to Las Vegas – a 16-hour leg – arriving on Tuesday afternoon.

“I don’t know what it is,” White said, “but I don’t get jet-lagged. I guess I’m lucky.”
