Lightspeed Aviation Foundation Announces Grant Winners

Pilots N Paws' animal transport program awarded.

At the Flying Aviation Expo in Palm Springs, California, this weekend the Lightspeed Aviation Foundation announced the winners of its Pilots Choice Award grants, which generously give to aviation-related charitable organizations. Grants of between $2,000 and $10,000 were awarded to eight aviation charities based on votes submitted by the public online.

Pilots N Paws, which organizes volunteers to transport needy rescue, shelter and foster animals, drew the highest number of votes. The organization will use the $10,000 grant to increase awareness of the program through various events.

A grant of $8,000 was awarded to New Tribes Mission, which will use the money toward the purchase of an airplane for its missionary work in Papua New Guinea. The Ninety Nines will receive $6,000 to help organize outreach activities and develop new programs to help women advance in aviation-related careers.

In addition to these top three winners, grants of at least $2,000 were awarded to the Academy of Model Aeronautics, Civil Air Patrol, Mission Aviation Fellowship, Angel Flight West and Patient AirLift Services.
