Paul Allen and Burt Rutan set out to build the largest aircraft ever as part of their new space tourism company. Here's a look at the design plan.
According to the company, the aircraft would be capable of delivering unmanned payloads and manned spacecraft to orbit.
Awsome...Thank you Burt and Paul for bringing Commercial Space back to the USA...I, for one, certainly hope this will bring us again to the forefront in space technology, and at the very least inspire our young people to look to our galaxy and the universe beyond as a place we will one day travel to, to explore, to work, and to learn.
Hope this will bring space excursions to within reach of the man on the street! Not likely though :(
What type of FAA Certification does an aircraft (spacecraft) like this need to aquire? And does anyone know how they plan to land and/or recover the space capsule?
Hahaha..."Commercial Space" - that's an oxymoron if I ever heard one. :-$
