Modifications to the cowling design include larger, longer-throw cowl flaps for improved cooling. They operate exactly the same way as conventional Cessna 182 cowl flaps do, including making use of the same lever mechanisms in the cockpit.

For having been a demonstrator pilot for SMA Diesel STC engine in France, I am glad to see the Cessna offer today. This Diesel engine is extremely easy to handle, responsive and fuel efficient. Probably the highest step in general aviation since years.
