After the Sun 'n Fun Storm

WOW !!! Ugly is not enough for this ....................... Glad I did not bid on those AUCTION airplanes ! I would have lost a lot, considering the huge damage done here at Lakeland, Florida. Sorry this happened, all those good folks that worked hard to get there and make a great show ....................................
Being in Central Florida I can vouch to the fact that it was a very severe storm. It broke my heart to see all the destroyed airplanes. Furthermore many of the aircraft are homebuilt, which represent many thousands of hours of passionate and hard work by the dedicated builders. To all those who suffered losses in this tragedy, my heartfelt sympathies. The only consolation is that no one was seriously injured.
Double WOW, it takes some pretty serious wind to tear engines off of airframes. Must have been a short lived tornado or something close to it.
Turned out to be a tornado. The path was about very short and very narrow. A baby tornado, if you will. But the damage was anything but minor.
