In what many see as a recognition long overdue, the Women's Airforce Service Pilots (WASPs) from the World War II era were honored with Congressional Medals yesterday. Dr. Peggy Chabrian, president of the Women in Aviation International said, "This intrepid group of women pilots made an invaluable contribution to the war effort. We are delighted that their hard work and many sacrifices will be honored."

I have the utmost respect for these Women of the sky, My college instructor was a WASP Pilot (Margaret Christian) and to this day, she is still the best pilot I have ever had the pleasure of flying with, and to add to her credit, I have flown with many Military and Civilian Pilots that I can best describe, and not to put to fine a point on it, as "Natural and Exquisite Aviators".

I am so glad to see this commendation, for these fine Women and Officer's, and, yes although overdue, I am sure very appreciated by both, the remaining and those who have gone off to glory. Mr. Obama, well done.

Sincerely, A Huge W.A.S.P fan, way to go Maggie,

Nicholas Alvarez
