Actor John Travolta has donated his Gulfstream II to the Georgia Aviation Hall of Fame, collocated with the Museum of Aviation at the Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, Georgia. According to the museum’s director of marketing, Bob Dubiel, Travolta donated the airplane in memory of his deceased son, Jett. Dubiel also said the airplane will be used as a tool to educate children about aviation.

The 12-passenger twin engine business jet landed at the base on Jan. 31, but is not expected to be on display until sometime after Robins Air Force Base Air Show, which is scheduled on April 28 and 29.

This is not the first time the famous actor has used aviation to show his benevolence. He donated a Canadair CL41 Tutor to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 2001 and he flew his Boeing 707 to Haiti to bring relief supplies after the devastating earthquake in 2010.

Travolta's Donation: All I could think was, "Geez, how wealthy is this guy?" Followed by, "Shouldn't there be some sort of law that prevents individuals from amassing this much wealth and the power that goes along with it? This kind of money can buy a hell of a lot of influence." But, hey! I'm just one of the 99%

A guy loses his son and remembers him with an incredibly generous donation and all you can do is lament your station in life. Got a suggestion- work you tail off as he did and you, too, will be rewarded....

Travolta was never 'given' anything more than you were- namely, a magnificient country to live in where your hard work can pay off. Geeze... get a life, you 99-ers.

Signed- Far, Far from a 1%-er.

A nice move by a class individual and a global friend of aviation.
