Renowned actor Harrison Ford, an active pilot and a member of the EAA, is the association's new chairman of the Young Eagles program. Ford replaces Chuck Yeager, who will carry on as chairman emeritus. Young Eagles has flown more than one million young people since its inception in 1992. While the program achieved its goal in October 2003, flying the one-millionth youngster, the EAA decided to continue the program, in part because so many chapters reported that Young Eagles weekends had become valuable community activities.

Ford, who is arguably the most famous pilot on the planet, has given rides to 81 Young Eagles. He becomes the third chairman of the Young Eagles program. Academy award-winning actor Cliff Robertson served as chairman from the program's founding in July 1992 through 1994. For more information, visit www.eaa.org.
