With Sun ‘n Fun just a few weeks away, Sporty’s Pilot Shop has released its official 2012 app for Florida’s biggest air show.
In addition to the basics, like show hours and ticket information, the app hosts a variety of other features, ranging from fly-in information for pilots to show maps to custom favorite lists where users can keep track of all their must-see exhibits and events. The app also provides special FBO offers and workshop schedules, as well as travel and lodging information for those driving to the show, among other features.
The app is currently available for Android phones, as well as 7- and 10-inch tablets, including the Kindle Fire. An Apple version will be available for download on March 15. Like last year’s app, the 2012 app is free.
As for the show itself, more than 500 exhibitors are expected to set up shop in Lakeland for the event, while a slew of renowned performers and visitors are currently on the roster. Some of note include the B-29 Superfortress Fifi, the USAF Thunderbirds and Aaron Tippin. Flying will be there as well, bringing you news, photos and videos straight from the show grounds.
