Responding to a marketplace reluctant to commit, Diamond Aircraft is making the grass in its pasture a little greener for DA40 prospects who may be teetering on the fence. Among the incentives to buy now: For every DA40 bought and delivered before the end of this year, the company is offering free maintenance-including parts and labor-for the first year or 125 hours, whichever comes first. The company is also offering an insurance credit of $3,500, sufficient for a year's insurance for most instrument rated pilots, according to Diamond. A $2,000 training credit is also part of the package, as is a $5,000 gas card for a total incentive package value of $13,250. Combined with the IRS special bonus depreciation tax incentive program for purchases up to $300,000, the Diamond offer tempts those in a position to be making a move to aircraft ownership. The offer applies to all new DA40s in the current inventory that will be registered in the United States or Canada.
