The buzz of light airplanes flying overhead is still a rare sound in China, but a new effort could resonate for general aviation in that country. A new FBO is opening at Zhuhai Airport, and Shuhai Tianyi Aviation Trading Company, the company behind it, has also ordered three Cirrus SR22s. Under the arrangement, Cirrus will focus some of its expansion energies on the new FBO, which will be a Cirrus Sales Center. A flying club is planned, and Shuhai Tianyi will also supply service and training for expected future Cirrus operators. There are 50 other GA aircraft at the airport, which is described as an aviation industrial park. One of the immediate business objectives is to establish Cirrus as a mainstay of what people think of when they consider light general aviation aircraft. Scott Jiang, Cirrus's China director, said, "We expect the Zhuhai region to become the center of Cirrus activity in Guangdong Province and the surrounding area."
