Boeing’s Dreamliner Progress Holds Promise for GA Suppliers

According to Airframer.com, there are 329 aviation vendors who were cheering the first flight of Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner last week. The ultimate success of the long-delayed program would mean greater prosperity for parts suppliers who also support general aviation — providing greater financial stability and greater assurance of long-term fiscal viability. Among the suppliers who rely on Boeing’s newest airliner are: B/E Aerospace; Goodrich; Honeywell; Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI); Ipeco; Rockwell Collins; and Spirit Aerosystems (formerly Boeing Wichita). Boeing has orders for 840 Dreamliners — a record backlog — with deliveries to the first customer All Nippon Airways now scheduled for the end of next year.
