Remember when we all heard that prices at grocery stores (and just about everywhere else) were going up because of the high cost of gas? Have you noticed them going down, now that gas prices are lower? Me neither. But at least one aviation business has passed on some fuel savings to its customers. Airline Transport Professionals (ATP) has issued cash rebates of as much as $2,500 to students who enrolled in mid-2008 to the school's Airline Career Pilot Program. ATP has also reduced training costs for students starting this year. ATP operates at 20 locations and specializes in programs with accelerated multiengine training geared toward airline and corporate careers. Under an advanced jet training program, ATP-trained pilots transition from light twins to regional jet flight training devices. Since it was founded in 1984, ATP has graduated thousands of pilots. ATP Vice President of Flight Operations Jim Koziarski said, "ATP is the only flight training company to pass cash rebates on to their students due to the recent fuel cost savings."
