Congratulations, got my eye on building an RV14.
This is a great milestone. Unfortunately the information is incorrect. My aircraft, RV-7A N954MM, first flew one week before Stephens plane, but was not published by Vans.
My name is Stan Magnuson, a Falcon 2000 Captain with Netjets. In my prior career I worked in support, Sales and marketing for Bendix/King where among other things I installed the Rutan Voyagers world flight avionics and worked to establish the kit manufacturers as legitimate suppliers of King avionics to their customers. It was through this affiliation with the home built/kit world that I became interested in building my own aircraft. After leaving Bendix/King, we started an avionics systems engineering company (avionics consultants ltd) which we still operate on a limited basis, providing harness and instrument panel fabrication services to kit builders.
N9544MM is serving as proof of concept for an improved modular instrument panel for RV-7 and RV-9 aircraft. For information feel free to contact us at stan.magnuson@gmail.com.
I have been an avid flying reader since my first solo in 1976. Thanks to all at Flying for a great and informative publication.
