Pin Security: Custom Wings & Insignia

More private operators and regional carriers have requested customized insignia for their crews for proper identification on all flights since September 11, 2001. Johnson's Jewelry of Dayton, Ohio, manufactures custom designed crew wings, name badges and other aviation uniform insignia.

Johnson's can replicate your airline or your company logo on the centerpiece of a wing insignia. Through a special Color-Imaging™ process, it can match logo colors exactly, manipulate specific designs and show the finished product to you electronically for approval prior to production. To verify authenticity and thwart duplication, Johnson's offers a tamper-proof seal for the back of an insignia, in the form of a bar code or serialized employee number. The company has never knowingly sold uniform insignia to wing or memorabilia collectors or unauthorized people. The initial die is free on larger orders, and an order of 10 wings in one color costs approximately $26 for each wing. Most finishes are gold, silver and pewter. Delivery takes approximately two weeks. To order or check samples, go to www.greatwings.com or call 800/662-4243 or 937/294-5646.
