Sporty’s 696/695 Checkout
The 696 is Garmin's coolest portable gadget ever. Want to really learn how to use it? Sporty's latest DVD has the scoop.

February 2009

It took about three days after Garmin released its GPSMap 696 portable for Sporty’s to come out with a DVD-based how-to guide, Garmin 696/695 Checkout. Based on the highly informative and well-designed guide, Sporty’s must have had a unit for a while before most folks knew about it. Narrated by Rob Reider, the 50-minute DVD goes through all of the basics of the operation of the unit, covering everything from turning it on to using it for avoiding serious weather to entering IFR flight plans and flying the flights. It’s an excellent introduction and general overview of the 696 and well worth the investment. The DVD is available from sportys.com for $29.95, or you can get it as a download from the site for your computer or iPhone. To find out more, visit sportys.com.
