After recently perusing some past issues of flying, I realized that alot of the flight training programs offered points towards obtaining a college degree.
Add this to the fact that alot of the airlines REQUIRE at least a bachelor's degree, in order to get your foot in the door.
Why? What does a college degree have to do with the ability to successfully manixxxxte the controls of an aircraft? Is it REALLY that complicated?
If so, why is the minimum age to get a pilot license LOWER than the age it takes to get a college degree, anyway???
