Yes many myths abound and the article shines good light on many misperceptions, but get real "...1000 hours in a year on courier flights...is worth infinitely more than 1000 hours flown over 20 years." In terms of currency on type and procedural expertise I agree with Richard Collins, but 250 courier flights of 4 hours duration over the same route doesn't match the experience of 250 flights between different departure and destination points in dozens of different terrains and countries. Weather experience counts positively either way, but obviously the concentrated time pilot will have better local knowledge. The "global" pilot should have better interpretitive skills.
