I don't think its that easy as the author states. I happen to work for Signature the FBO at DCA. It is true some GA does come into DCA. They are mainly high federal goverment officals. For example, rumsfeld, FBI and CIA directors. The FAA and one former President related to the current. Thats just about it?
So if its so easy. Why can't the president brother get into DCA? He travels with a security detail. He flies into IAD. Just about every other state heads travel to IAD. I have seen every former president arrive IAD not DCA. All but one like I said earlier. All the fortune 500 companies still have to travel to IAD. Believe me talking to these people will jump thru any hoop to get into DCA (they hate the 30-60min drive into DC)
So saying that dca is closed only to small GA just isn't true. Its closed still to every one. Thats why are hours only till 5 pm monday thru friday.
Common sense should always come first.
