Lane Wallace

Published: Nov 20, 2005

I have just finished reading Lane Wallace's October article about aeroplane ownership. Yet again she hits the nail right on the head about why we commit so much of our hard earned money and all too precious time on aging flying machines. I was forced to sell my beloved C-172 3 years ago when I got "aids"..aviation induced divorce syndrome and have been plane less since. God I miss the old beast..The plane, not the wife!!!!!

To think she was recently in my part of the world, Australia. If I had known I would have invited her to the birthplace of military aviation here in Australia, Point Cook, and arranged for her to fly one of the 1942 Tiger Moths that live here. She was only up the road when she tested the Airvan in Gippsland.

A great writer who speaks volumes to all of us private aviators. Well done.
