Richard Collins writes about bird strikes in the October issue. He mentions the highest reported bird strike was by a DC-8 at FL390. Some bird indeed! Out of sheer curiosity, what kind of bird has the capacity to fly in that type of environment? I've tried several search queries with no luck. Thought maybe one of you bird-watchers (not the metal type birds) my be able to shed some light on this one for me.
You and your airplane can help patients, kids, the disabled or even the environment.
