Piper Cub Tales
For pure joy of flying experience, I recommend reading "Piper Cub Tales" by Frank B. Baker.
Join the author as he flies on adventure filled crosscountry flights in a 1946 Piper J-3 Cub. Flying low and slow across seemingly endless prairie, through narrow mountain valleys, and over high passes in the Rocky, Cascade and Appalachian Mountains, he and his passengers experience the extremes of Mother Nature's personality. As a purist, Frank navigates without a GPS, rather he uses only aeronautical chart, plotter, stopwatch, airspeed and compass. His "seat of the pants" flying in a vintage airplane gives the reader a feeling for what aviation was like in an almost bygone era.
