Flight from Fresno CA to Detroit

I will be flyng a small single non pressurized VFR only aircraaft from Fresno ro Detroit. Curious about crossing mountians, suggested routes through in that area? I have some mountian exp in Canada but never been in that area. Any info would be greatThankyou

fly east to albaquerce (or however you spell it) New Mexico then fly northeast, lower hills and safer flight that way.comanche
