Looking at the Aztec vs. Baron post comparing Porsches to BMW's and relating them to the airplanes, it got me to thinking - Am I the only pilot in the world that doesn't really care about cars, as long as they get me around safely? My criteria for cars is simply that they should be safe, mechanically reliable, last long enough so the capital cost gets down to somewhere around a dime a mile or less (if the dealer offers me more than $500, I didn't drive it enough), and the radio should work (FM stereo is good, CD is better, but mostly I listen to AM news when I'm driving anyway). Good fuel economy is also a good thing.
All I can say is I get real irritated when one of my favorite magazines (this one) wastes valuable column inch real estate covering cars when they have a whole sister publication devoted to the topic.
Now, if you ask me about steam locomotives sometime...
You and your airplane can help patients, kids, the disabled or even the environment.
