Trained by, and an instructor in the RCAF (Chipmunk and Harvard!), followed by 35 years with a major airline - 15 of those years as a Check Airman/Instructor and Chief Pilot. 11 more years and still flying my 172, I too have seen and investigated a few accidents, from minor to near catastrophic. I always enjoy Martha's column, but never before have I found my head nodding up and down so frequently, interspersed with bouts of laughter!
