I am researching the Bell L-39, swept wing variant of the P63 Kingcobra. Only two were built, for the Navy, in 1946, to investigate low speed performance for carrier service. The second one was returned to Bell to be modified to simulate the proposed Bell X2 wing. The big question i,s does anyone know what colour they were? There are supposed to be colour photos somewhere but I have yet to see one.
