Sounds like you need a satellite phone. Skymall.com use to have one and I believe Verizon has one for rental. Satellite phones are not dependant on cell towers because they depend on satellites. Satellite phones are what is in airliners but they tend to be costly per minute. If you cannot find them, run a Google or Yahoo search on them.
No inexpensive way to do this. You will receive text and emails anyway, at altitude and cruise speed. So if someone needs to contact you, they can. Answering back...if you slow the aircraft down to approx 150kts or less, you can usually get a call or text out, depending on where you are. I have done this and it works...most of time.
