PC-12 performance

Published: Dec 11, 2006

I was looking over the October 2006 issue of FLYING about the PC-12. In the article, the author mentioned cruising at 17,000 feet @ 15 celsius above standard at about 8,000 lbs. The cruise numbers recorded in the article are 269 kts TAS and 480 pph fuel flow. I fly the -45 verion of the PC-12 (the one in the article is a -47). As far as I know, they have the same engine and should have very close to the same performance at the same weight. The numbers out of the PC-12 PIM show 257 kts TAS and 436 pph fuel flow. I am wondering if Pratt & Whitney or Pilatus has upped the torque limits for cruise. If not, those numbers are almost 5% above book for cruise TAS and 10% over book fuel flow.
