This is really sad news, as it can be difficult to get people interested in flying to begin with. As we all know this is no cheap easy hobby/sport/passion. No injury's reported is a good thing. I am sure that all will be well and lesson examples can be made from this strong weather event. My hat is off to those picking up the pieces from this, I wish I could be there to help.
