Hi Les,
Really enjoyed "the B-Word". I followed Len for a lot of years and his retirement experience. His daughter sent me one of the last copies of Len's "View from the cockpit"
You really said what needed to be said. The executives writing big checks to themselves.
I don't fly mucch anymore cause I'm getting old (74). Medicals are harder to pass, Avgas is nearly $5/gal. I just want to finish my Commercial helo add-on.
Really enjoy your Flying stories. I joined Flying.com. Your professionalism shows in your writing.
An aside story. I was left on the tarmac at LAX awhile back by a commuter carrier. The crew left, the baggage handlers left, -- nobody but me and the Brasilia. I could not get access to the terminal. Considered entering the aircraft, left open, and turning it on and calliong LAX ground to get TSA to come rescue me. Reconsidered--nah, not my airplane.
Regards,
Steve Guinn
Hi Les,
Greeting from an avid fan on L.I. I base my E55 Baron at FRG (home of Larry Arken). This past Sunday (11/13), I flew my wife and kids to DXR. We parked the Baron at Reliant and headed over to the mall for some shopping and lunch. As we were leaving the mall "I thought I had a Capt. Les Abend sighting". Please let me know if it was you...or was it your long lost twin brother. I didn't want to say hello, just in case it was your twin!
Regards,
Andy Quentzel
