FlightSafety International says customers will soon be able to take advantage of a number of new business aviation training initiatives including simulators, eLearning programs and custom training packages.
In an announcement yesterday at NBAA-BACE, the company said its third full flight Gulfstream G280 simulator is expected to come online in Savannah, Georgia, by March 2018. The simulator will augment two other G280s already operating at the Dallas learning Center. The simulator will be equipped with the Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion, PlaneView 280 avionics suite, as well as a Head-up Guidance System with Enhanced Vision System; Dual flight management system with LPV and RNP capabilities; and Integrated Flight Information System.
During the first quarter of 2018, FlightSafety also expects improved Gulfstream G450 training to begin in Wilmington, Delaware, following the installation and Level D qualification of the simulator. Upgrades and modifications to the current G450 simulator include installation of a FlightSafety VITAL 1100 Visual System to deliver more realistic optics to pilots.
FlightSafety has answered a long-running industry call for customized evidence-based training scenarios through its Platinum training program. Platinum customers will have advanced access to premium course scheduling and instructors available to fly in any flight department’s aircraft or as part of the flight crew itself. Customers will, in conjunction with FlightSafety instructors, develop customized training profiles based on individual needs, industry trends and FOQA, SOQA and SMS.
The company said it expanded its ATP CTP training program to pilots preparing for an ATP checkride by providing hands-on training in corporate aircraft simulators, such as the Dassault Falcon 50, Bombardier Challenger 601 and an Embraer Legacy at the Houston Learning Center. A Challenger 604 is expected to join the program later this fall in Tucson.
FlightSafety’s eLearning catalog has also grown with the addition of Performance Based Navigation, Human Factors-Crew Resource Management and Single Pilot Resource Management course. In particular, the online Single Pilot Resource Management training and simulator-based SRM LOFT courses present techniques and strategies that single pilots can use to meet the demands of operating advanced aircraft in complex airspace. The training focuses on a range of essential human performance and flightpath management skills and strategies.
For aircraft maintenance professionals, FlightSafety announced its Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) training programs are now being offered in Johannesburg, South Africa, through a cooperative agreement with ExecuJet. The company is also extending its Honeywell training programs to Brisbane, Australia.
