ACONE Winter Icebreaker Social
ACONE (The Aero Club of New England) will present its popular Winter Icebreaker Social at the Papa Razzi restaurant in Burlington, MA. Wednesday, February 20, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM.
Special Guest Speaker, Garry Kozak, a world renowned salvage expert, will give an exciting presentation on the last flying Sikorsky S-39 Amphibian, a 1930 aircraft that was lost some 55 years ago in a very remote lake in Alaska.
Garry will present the story of the S-39, its history, the tragic loss, and the many futile searches spanning over 40 years; a story of frustration, failure, and success; all played out in one of the world’s most scenic, yet treacherous places.
Garry’s experience will give aviation buffs and treasure hunters or anyone who has a little Indiana Jones in them the opportunity to live the fantasy, at least vicariously.
This wonderful evening at the Papa Razzi in Burlington will give members and prospective members alike the chance to catch up on the latest gossip, engage in some spirited hangar flying, and perhaps even meet a local aviation legend or two.
Current members are strongly encouraged to bring a prospective new member with them to this year's Ice Breaker event.
So please, come and meet Aero Club members in a warm and comfortable setting while you join us in raising a toast to flight.
Reservations and payment required by Sunday, February 17. Cost is $25 per person, which includes appetizers and a cash bar. Seating is limited to 100, so please reserve early.
