Dynon has unveiled a new ADS-B “in” traffic, weather and TFR receiver designed for light sport and experimental aircraft.
The new receiver connects with Dynon’s Skyview panel, runs on aircraft power and, according to Dynon, is the cheapest permanently mounted ADS-B system on the market at its price of $995.
In addition to free FAA weather information, which includes Nexrad radar, metars and TAFs, Dynon’s system provides visual and audio traffic alerts when hooked up to Dynon’s Mode-S transponder with ADS-B out.
According to Dynon’s Director of Marketing Robert Hamilton, the new product is the company’s answer to its customers’ number one product demand: in-flight weather.
The system will be available this fall.
