Piper Shows Off Revamped M-Class Models

M350, M600 make debut at Sun 'n Fun.

Piper arrived at Sun ‘n Fun with further details of three new airplanes — the M350, M500 and M600 — all based on the venerable PA-46 type certificate that has been a staple of the brand since the early 1980s.

The new generation of M-class airplanes are the best ones yet thanks to additional payload carrying capability, extra range and newly redesigned interiors to go along with the latest Garmin glass-cockpit avionics.

Piper unveiled the M350 and M600 just days ago at an event at its headquarters in Vero Beach, Florida. An interior mockup of the M600 is on display at the Piper exhibit here at the show, giving potential buyers the chance to see up close and in person how the new airplane compares with previous iterations.

Those buyers won’t have to wait long to get their hands on the $2.85 million M600. Piper has been secretly test flying three prototypes since last year and has recently begun FAA testing for certification credit. These flights are expected to culminate with first customer deliveries of the M600 by the end of the year.
